Can protective plates be attached to fire rated door?

Yes, Steelcraft doors we are approved up to 48" in height or not to exceed a total 2304 square inches per face.

Protective plates are usually flat sheets of metal or plastic applied to one or both sides of door faces and located in the lower 16" of the door.

  1. Cladding is listed in UL category 'GVUZ'.
  2. Cladding must be attached to the door per the manufactures' listing instructions and applied to one or both sides
