Proximity Card

A generic name for contactless integrated circuit devices used for security access or payment systems. The industry generally refers to cards that operate at 125kHZ as proximity cards. These cards contain in ID which is a static number. When presented within the field of the reader, the card transmits this ID at the 125kHz frequency.
