When new product(s) are added to an existing installed customer site, all devices at that site should be updated to the latest firmware revision that is available for the most consistent user experience. This helps to ensure locks will act and respond the same during use and programming. Products updated with the latest available firmware will also include the latest feature set(s), improvement performance and/or bug fixes.
Whenever an AD Series credential reader is upgraded with new or different credential types or replaced in the field, be sure to update. Lock firmware and reader firmware are packaged together so this is a singular operation.

Steps to determine what firmware version your products are currently using AND if a firmware update is suggested:
1) Use the Hand Held Device (HHD) and Schlage Utility Software (SUS) application to look at your product "Device Options" and view its current firmware revision(s).
2) Review the firmware package information (release notes) to determine the specific firmware revision for the product you interested in. If your device has the same firmware version noted as that found in step 1 above, then no firmware update is needed.
3) If a firmware update is suggested, then copy the firmware package from the Schlage Support site and move it to your HHD - root directory. Then the firmware package will be available the next time you use the HHD to communicate with your device.
