DATE and TIME Facts – KC2-Deadbolt, BE-367, PED-500, PED-1000:
• The deadbolt clock circuitry directly uses the battery as its power source. If the deadbolt battery is removed, the clock can keep accurate time for up to two minutes. If two minutes is exceeded, the clock will reset its DATE and TIME to the factory setting – January 1970.
• Pressing the “Schlage” button while the battery is removed will immediately cause the clock to reset its DATE and TIME to the factory setting.
• The SNAP Programmer will always verify the KC2-Deadbolt DATE and TIME settings after successfully programming the deadbolt. A warning will be provided to the user if the clock setting of the SNAP Programmer and the clock setting of the deadbolt is not within 5 minutes. It is up to the end user to determine which device needs adjustment.
• The Schlage Utility Software (SUS) on the HHD or Uplink program used with a Pocket PC or Laptop to program the deadbolt can be set to check the deadbolt clock and compare it to within a specified time difference. The default time difference is 5 minutes.
• The facility manager or maintenance personnel should always verify the deadbolt DATE and TIME whenever the battery is replaced.
• IMPORTANT: If the DATE and TIME is not properly set in the deadbolt, all audit information will not be accurate.
