Can I get Excel spreadsheet data from my Schlage Express Software reports?
Yes... in any already generated report from Schlage Express, right click anywhere in the "white space" and Select Export to Microsoft Excel...
This will start MS-Excel with a default blank spreadsheet, if it is installed on your system.
(MS-Excel is required to be installed for the data transfer process to work).
The process starts a "New Web Query" dialogue box and allows you to select the "Import" and then "Import Data" into either the "Existing Worksheet" or allows you to "Create New Worksheet"; typically choose the "Existing Worksheet" option.
Once the data from the report is imported, you will note that the report title and field headers are at the top rows, and then the actual data is in the subsequent rows.
You then can customize fonts, bolding, column widths, etc. and then select "File ... Save As..." to browse to your file directory destination and then assign a specific file name other than the default Book1.
NOTE: Since the Schlage Express Reports are geared to individual HTML Screen output format, you have to generate multiple report pages and export each page to MS-Excel as single spreadsheet files, and manually combine multiple spreadsheet pages to get large data sets to work with - each individual screen output is around 40 rows of data to be able to export.
If you have the tools to work with the direct HTML report files, then these are available in the Schlage Express Reports sub-directory after a report has been generated, instead of piecemeal data sets exported from each report page individually.
(However, this option is not directly supported by the Schlage Customer Service Team)
