Are the solenoids for Von Duprin 6000 Series Electric Strikes replaceable?

The Von Duprin 6100 and 6200 Series Electric Strike solenoids are replaceable.
The replacement solenoids can be used to convert a 6100 or 6200 Series Electric Strike by ordering the appropriate solenoid kit below.
Kits include the solenoid, plunger, spring, and washer.

  • Yellow wires - might be marked as P/N SA-5042-3
• 6000 Series solenoid Kit 16VDC - 050239-00
  • Blue wires
• 6000 Series solenoid Kit 24VDC - 050240-00
  • Black wires - might be marked as P/N SA-5042-5
• 6000 Series solenoid Kit 28VDC - 050699-00
  • White wires

The Von Duprin 6300 and 6400 Strikes operate on 12VDC or 24VDC based on the Wire Harness selected during installation.
Both Harnesses are available in part 050803.
Neither the 6300 nor 6400 have solenoid replacement kits.

The shape of the plunger and the corresponding cavity in the solenoid for the 6100 and 6200 Series Strikes changed (late 2020/early 2021).
An old plunger will not work with a new solenoid if they are on opposite sides of that change requiring that the plunger be replaced.
On 6100 and 6200 Models with the solenoid sticking straight up or straight down from the backbox and the Slider Hook engages the Plunger directly inside the strike, the plunger can be changed  (Reference image in bottom left section of image below).
On 6100 and 6200 Models with the solenoid sticking straight off the back or oriented vertically along the back of the strike will have the Slider Hook engaging a pin which indirectly hooks to the Plunger (see top left section of image below) will not be able to change the plunger and would require replacing the entire backbox assembly by identifying the appropriate backbox, voltage, Fail Safe v Fail Secure, and if the DS/DS-LC option (see Von Duprin 6000 Series Electric Strikes Parts Manual to identify the part # for the appropriate backbox assembly)
