Why would 24-R device pop open when jiggled back and forth?

The backset of the device may be too large and the latchbolt of the standard 24-R is "walking" into the center case caused by the back/forth motion of the door. Verify the device backset is correct per 24-R Template and shim strike if needed.

If device backset is correct, replacing the device center case & center case cover with a F-24-R to add deadlocking to the latchbolt would resolve the issue. Parts to the F-24R center case & cover can be found on page 30 & 31 of 24/25 Parts Manual
