One of the following items may cause the EL1490 device to retract then release:
- Incorrect power supply - Verify you have the PS873-2/4TD or PS914-2RS/4RL power supply.
- Problems with wire gauge or run - Check the gauge wire from the power supply to the door.
- Distance up to 100' from power supply to the EPT power transfer #14 gauge wire is required.
- Distance over 100' and up to 200' max from power supply to the EPT power transfer #12 gauge wire is required.
- Mechanical adjustment on vertical rods - Make sure rods are adjusted per step 5 in the installation instructions.
- Power supply board setting - If they are using a PS873-AO or PS914-4RL (AO function) board and have not set the switch setting to reflect the normally open LX switch this will happen. Turn either switch 1 or 2 on to reflect a time frame instead of an LX activation.
- Defective potted module or grounding issue - A Bad potted circuit breaker or short to ground could be blowing the resettable thermal fuse on a PS914 causing the fuse to reset and try again then fail again and retry, etc.
- External input signal - Check the input activation (card reader, key pad, etc.) to the power supply and make sure input signal is activated and closed for desired time, then check the output of the power supply and make sure you are getting 24VDC output.
Wiring/loose connection - Measure the voltage at the EL device going into the potted module and also out of the potted module between green and orange wires, it should measure 23-24VDC.
