What causes a Senior Swing door to hang open and not close?

First, turn off the power to the Senior Swing.

If the door closes, check controller for a constant activation signal from an activation device.
If door continues to hang up and will not close, unplug the motor connector from the control box. If the door closes, control box is defective, and must be replaced.
If door continues to hang up and will not close, the problem is with gear box, and the gearbox must be replaced.
