In 2002 the Schlage AL-Series underwent a design change that affected the spring cage, driver, and plastic insert.  Spring cage and driver replacements for AL locks manufactured before this design change are not available, instead all of the following parts would have to be replaced as the current design is not compatible with the previous design. Table 1 lists the parts needed to replace the spring cages and drivers on a pre-2002 AL-Series lock.
