The door handing on the MA851 or MA881 can be changed. See “Mortise Rehanding” following step 8 in the MA series installation instructions.

To change the locking side, move the handing screws from one side of the lock chassis to the other side. 

To change the swing of the door, remove the latch per the installation instructions, rotate an reinstall the latch.

NOTE: MA lever spring cages are handed. Changing from Right Hand (RH) to Left Hand (LH) or Left Hand Reverse (LHR) or from Left Hand (LH) to Right Hand (RH or Right Hand Reverse (RHR) will require the levers to be swapped.

The Request to Exit (RX) on the MA851 or MA881 monitors both sides and does not require Rehanding.
