WPR400 Rechargeable Battery Pack Replaced as of August 1, 2014

Resolution: Battery packs have changed on the WPR400. They are no longer rechargeable.   Replaced as of August 1, 2014

- Both the battery charger and the proprietary rechargeable battery pack is no longer available for order replacement.

- The 8B kit is now released to change the proprietary rechargeable battery pack version WPR400 to a standard AA 8B version.

- Any existing WPR400 that is rechargeable in the field, should set up with a return and replace RMA for the unit to get it replaced to the current version and out of the field.

- You can't use an 8B kit on a WPR400 that is rechargeable since that would not get rid of the charging port on the WPR400.

- Contact Schlage Customer Care Support at 877-671-7011 to request an RMA.



WPR400's are no longer rechargeable.
Effective August 1, 2014, Wireless Portable Readers (WPR400) will no longer require the proprietary battery pack.  The WPR400 battery compartment has been redesigned to accomodate 8 off-the-shelf AA batteries. This change will not affect the functionality of the WPR400 or TK400. Orders taken starting on July 18, 2014 for all WPR400 and TK400 will be shipped with an 8AA battery holder and 8 off-the-shelf AA batteries. Product ordering and pricing will NOT change.
