Yes, the MT20 has the
same PIV capability as the aptiQ and MT/MTK readers. The only difference
is the output format for enrollment use. The
MT20 will output 75-bit PIV data in hexadecimal by default and can output
200-bit when using CE-401-200 configuration card. Hexadecimal and octal for Express, are the
only output options at this time.
We do not know where
companies who manufacture PIV cards get their stock from. The three known
companies that make PIV cards are Gemalto, Oberthur, and G&D.
Regardless of the card manufacturer, the AD201 and MT20 will read all of
them because they all comply with FIPS.
