Will a Schlage reader be able to read the CSN from a smart card if it is unable to read the secure sector?

A standard MT Schlage reader will read one or the other, either the secure sector or CSN.  What the standard reader will do is always check sectors first.  If a secure sector is found and can be read using keys, the reader will read that sector and report.  If it can't access the sector, reader does and reports nothing.  In either case, it won't revert to looking for the CSN.  The Schlage reader will only read the CSN from a smart card if it's configured to do so.
