Why wont my Schlage Connect (BE468/469), Schlage Sense (BE479), or my Schlage Encode (BE489/BE499) extend or retract the latch?

Issues with the latch extending can be caused by a few different factors. To troubleshoot: 

  1. Ensure that the correct latch is installed.
  2. Adjust bolt/frame alignment to ensure the latch can move free from obstructions.
  3. Complete a Factory reset on the lock  
  4. Ensure you complete the setup process on the lock by entering in User code A or B into the keypad while the unit is unlocked. 
    • The lock Should extend and retract the deadbolt after entering in the user code
  5. Complete a motor reset
