Schlage locks may stop accepting programming codes for a few different reasons. Start by asking:
Has the lock been paired to the Schlage Home or Amazon Key application?
If yes, The programming code was deleted as a result of the pairing process with the app. All changes must be done using the application.
If no, Does your keypad go red on the 4th digit?
If yes, perform a factory reset. The lock thinks you are trying to enter a 4 digit user code that is doesn't recognize which is why it won't accept anything past the fourth digit. Review the factory reset instructions for your lock to restore the default codes.
If no, Does your Keypad go red on the 1st digit?
If yes, Your lock is displaying a critical battery indicator. Replace the batteries and try again.
