Why will my EL device not release the solenoid?

Try these steps:
  1. Disconnect power from the EL device, if the solenoid plunger releases then and issue is with power going into the device.
  2. If it still does not release, try to pull the plunger out of the solenoid, should move in and out smoothly. 
  3. If it does not, then an issue is with solenoid or plunger. Replace the EL base plate assembly.
