Why is my lock not connecting to my smart home hub?

If your hub is having trouble reaching your lock, verify that the hub is within the correct range.

For Bluetooth locks, your hub will need to be within 40 feet.

For Z-wave locks, your hub will need to be within 40 feet.

For Zigbee locks, your hub will need to be within 40 feet.

Both Zigbee and Z-wave protocols support localized mesh networks. That means devices running on these networks can rely on other network devices to serve as “transmitters” to the next device in the chain. This can extend the range of your Z-wave or Zigbee devices.

If your lock is within range, also verify that the signal strength will not be hindered by walls or floors separating the lock from the hub.
