The DPS sensor on the L9000 mortise lock must be aligned with the corresponding DPS magnet in the magnet tray behind the strike.
If DPS switch is not triggering, test first by applying the DPS magnet directly to the switch sensor.
If direct application of the magnet does not cause the switch to trigger, check the wiring (see L9000 Electrified Lock Instructions for details.)
If wiring is correct, but direct application of magnet does not trigger the DPS, it could be a fault in the switch. Contact Allegion Tech Support for Mechanical Locks.
Is DPS sensor aligned vertically with DPS magnet?
Is DPS sensor aligned horizontally with DPS magnet?
What is the door gap? (1/8" door gap is recommended)
If the door gap is excessive (over 3/8") or if the DPS sensor and magnet are not aligned (both vertically and horizontally), then the DPS switch might not be triggered by closing the door. Additionally, these issues can affect each other, so even a slight misalignment coupled with a slightly excessive door gap could also result in the DPS switch not triggering.
