Why is my BR400 getting a commissioning error?

The BR400 needs a 2.4gh Wi-Fi network to connect and requires split networks to avoid connection issues.
With a dual router or when connecting to a high speed 5gh Wi-Fi network the app will show a commissioning error and will not allow the adapter to connect.

To resolve this error:

Open the mobile device's settings > go to Wi-Fi settings > Forget all networks that the mobile device knows.

Join the mobile device back to the home network 2.4G network only if networks are separated.

Reset adapter while plugged into the wall outlet. (Push and hold front button for 15 seconds)

Unplug the adapter after resetting for pairing procedures.

Follow the in app steps to complete the pairing process.

If consistent commission issues continue, it may require you to separate the networks in order for the mobile device to stay on the 2.4G network during commissioning. This is due to the mobile device being compatible with 2.4/5G network bands and it will connect to the dominant network in range without indication. Separating the networks will alleviate this issue and help isolate the 2.4G for proper commissioning. Refer to your Internet service provider for instructions on separating your networks.
