Why does the L9000 lock with rx switch bind when I change the handing?

Schlage non-electrified L9000 mortise locks began using a modular type RX switch for locks specified with the RX on January 02, 2017. The RX is handed in that it must always be on the inside. If a lock is re-handed in the field, the RX must also be re-handed. If the RX is not re-handed, it can cause a noticeable drag on the thumbturn when locking and can cause the locking catch to not move all the way to the unlocked position when unlocking.

Change lock handing with RX:
1. If the RX module is installed, remove the RX module.
2. Remove the handing screw.
3. Rotate the latch 180° (if necessary).
4. Reinstall the handing screw on the appropriate side.
5. Reinstall the RX module with the microswitch on the same side as the handing screw.
