Why does my Schlage Express get hung up when trying to view Audits

This issue may be the result of too many audits in the database or a bug in SUS versions 4.11.3 and older.



When the user selects the Audit tab, the SMS Express begins sorting the data and may take a long time to complete the process before continuing.  During this time it looks like it is hung up.  We have seen this take 30 minutes.



First, verify the customer is using the latest SUS software found on Schlage.com/support.  SUS version 4.12.2 and newer will fix the Audit bug.
If the customer is using the latest SUS software, the customer then needs to try to reduce the number of audits stored in the Schlage Express database.

  • Select "Settings" at the top of the main Screen
  • Select "Program settings" in the drop down
  • select the "Audits" tab at the top of the screen
  • Ensurte that the "Save pruged audits to text file in "oldAudits" folder is selected
  • Select the "Purge Now" button and then select "OK" in the popup message

"Purge Now" will not remove all of the audits in the database.  "Purge Now" will reduce the number of saved audits to one-half of the number entered for "Maximum Quantity of audits to save".  This allows Schlage Express to continue to provide Audit infomation for the most recent audit activity.
To view "Purged" audit text history, navigate to the Old Audits folder C:\Program Files\Schlage Security Management System Express\OldAudits


To reduce the likelihood this issue from reoccurring as audits continue to be saved in the future, enter a smaller "Maximum Quantity of audits to save" in the field provided.  Be sure to select "SAVE" at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
