Why do I get an Error 601 with my SUS/HHD when loading new FW on my AD-Series device?

Allegion introduced a new boot loader, version 2.1, that alters all AD-Series firmware updates

The first AD-Series firmware package with the new boot loader 2.1 is AD.A.60.

Firmware package AD.A.60 (or newer) can only be installed in an AD-device using SUS 5.0.2 (or newer)

NOTE: A boot loader is a small program that downloads or starts firmware execution with a reset or a power up.  Installing the new boot loader the first time in a device will take approximately two more additional minutes than the normal firmware update time

Before updating devices to AD.A.60, you must update your HHD SUS to version 5.0.2.  You can find the SUS download and AD.A.60, HERE.

If the Hand Held Device reports SUS Error E601 or E900 when attempting firmware updates, you need to update to SUS 5.0.2, see the explanations below or in this Technical Bulletin.
