Schlage offers professional lock training both at the factory and in the field.  Years of customer observation and feedback during training sessions is that when the anti-rotation plate is installed it commonly falls off the door when installers reach for the tools or instructions.  To ensure that it stays in place, and to provide a hassle-free installation, the engineers designed the hassle free clip.
