Why can't I open the Express software?

After a new install of Schlage express the software will not open when the shortcut on the desktop is clicked 

Do the following  

  1. Disable any anti virus software that might be running on the computer, some anti virus software removes files with the .exe extension.
  2. Uninstall Schlage Express
  3. Install Schlage Express again, if a warning message is display that a  previous version exist click NO to continue.
