Why are lead lined frames used?

Lead lined frames are intended for use in the X-ray Room locations in Health Care facilities.

Frames are provided by Steelcraft prepped as follows: 

  • Frames are supplied knock-down (KD).
  • Frames are provided with clips only for Lead Lining. (Lead by others)
  • Lead lined clips are located on the door side of frame. Lead is to cover the inside surfaces of the face, rabbet, stop and part or all of the soffit. Lead linings are to be overlapped at the miters of the frame.

Frame Availability:

  • F & MU series only
  • 3-sided and 4-sided door frames.
  • 4-sided borrowed light (window) frames. No elevation frames.
