When should V3 be used for thresholds?

V3 is full-body-strength material which fills in the underside of a Zero threshold to make it a nearly solid piece.
 
This option is recommended for high traffic areas or high-weight areas,   such as a loading dock.

V3 is not needed for adjustable threshold assemblies.
V3 is not needed for the 65 threshold either.  The lower profile of this piece negates the need for the V3.
