If the cover plate on the mechanism case causes the EL solenoid to drop when slid over the solenoid, then the solenoid plunger requires adjustment. You must lengthen the rod of the plunger by turning the hex nut in front of the plunger to show more threads (about 7-10 threads). This makes the rod length longer allowing the plunger to pull deeper into the solenoid during the in-rush period.
