What would cause the Von Duprin Chexit device to have one red flash when armed then nothing?

The Inhibit connection is not wired properly.

For motor driven Chexit devices shipped after 8-24-2015 .  Reference the Wiring Diagrams in Von Duprin Chexit (New Design) Wiring & Installation Instructions - For device purchased on or after 8-24-2015.

  • The GREEN wire must have 24VDC for the Chexit feature tor arm.
  • If Access Control is used, then you must connect its NC dry contact between RED and GREEN wires.
  • If Access Control is not used, then the GREEN wire must be tied to the RED wire.
  • If multiple Access Control mechanisms are used, connect them in series between the GREEN and RED wires.

For Solenoid driven Chexit devices shipped prior to 8-24-2015.  Reference the Wiring Diagrams in Von Duprin - Discontinued Old Style CX33A/35A CX98/99 Chexit Installation Instructions.

  • Almost the same as for the Motor Driven Chexit above except that for Single Door Applications, the WHITE wire could be used in place of the RED wire.
