The aluminum plates with a threshold rest such as #268, 68, 168, 105 & 106-can be spot welded. When multiple plates are being used with a connector like #269 or 469, these can also be welded to the underside of the plate.
Zero cannot weld plates together without the connector pieces.
Many Zero threshold assemblies can be installed without the welding since these pieces do interlock with the groove on the underside of the plates. Standard anchoring to a concrete floor or even wood floor is sufficient.
There are some job applications, such as a wide expansion joint where the connecting the plate to the threshold rest may warrant the welding. Some of these would be a case by case application to omit the welding or not.
