What was the Schlage D series Olympiad lever lock?

The Olympiad lock was Schlage’s first key-in-lever lock introduced in 1983. It was the predecessor to the discontinued D-series lever design which was then replaced by the ND lever design.  The main characteristics of this lock were:

  1. Smaller diameter rose than the D and ND series rose
  2. No individual spring cages for the levers, thus the only springs supporting the levers were the short coil springs behind the retractor.  These springs failed quickly causing the levers to sag which became characteristic of most, if not all, Olympiad locks.

The Olympiad lock was discontinued in 1990 when Schlage introduced the D-series chassis design with individual spring cages for each lever.
