What to do when KC-2 or Cobra locks will not reset

KC-2 Extra step to get lock reset back to factory defaults.

In an extreme case when KC-2 lock does not reset back to factory defaults follow the next procedure:

1: Do a regular reset procedure:

1. Remove the inside escutcheon

2. Remove one battery

3. Press and hold the * key

4. Reinstall the battery, while continuing to hold the * key

> Red LED flashes 2 times

> Green LED illuminates and beeper sounds

Release the * key


2: Change the programming code and repeat step one (this confirms a full reset of the lock including reestablishing the default programming code)

> Enter programming code, * , 7 , * , New 6 digit programming code or iButton, * , Enter new programming code or iButton again, * 

> Test that the new programming code puts the lock into programming mode - alternating red and green LED flashes

> Then repeat step one, and test that the lock responds to the default programming code 9 7 5 3 1 *

Replace the inside escutcheon
