What size of the 94 impact device would be used on a 2'10" door?

The standard 94/95 device was designed to fit door openings from 2’-10” to 4’-0”, not net door sizes. 

Originally, the shorter version of the Inpact device was designed to fit door openings from 2’-6” to 2’-10” but this caused an issue with ordering. 

That is why we Allegion clarified the templates for the short device to read 2’-6” to 2’-9 ¾.
