What is unique about the Von Duprin AX device?

  • The force required to activate operable parts is 5 pounds maximum.
  • There is a unique UL label on it that states it meets California Building Code.
  • The shock absorber is different from non-AX devices.
  • The spring between the bell crank assemblies is different and is colored red to distinguish it from non-AX devices.
  • For QEL application, there is a unique AX QEL motor assembly.

Due to some of the above differences, devices are not field convertible to AX.
