The (SF) "Swing Free" arm allows the door to be put into hold open position, but then repositioned (swing free) to any other degree of opening without taking the closer out of the hold open mode.
To disable the "Swing Free" feature of the 4310ME arm, the arm locking screw (that is stored in the arm tube) is removed from the arm tube and placed in the breakaway section of the arm hub, thereby making the arm solid.
