The 996EO trim is the 996 escutcheon plate with mounting studs but with no holes for attaching a lever or mounting a cylinder.
A likely use of this would be if removing an existing 996 trim from one leaf of a pair.
The 996EO would cover the existing prep, but not have anything on the escutcheon.
As a Special, Von Duprin can make a 996EO W/Cylinder Hole with no hole for attaching the lever, but the cylinder hole is machined - must know whether the trim is for a Rim/Vertical (-R/V) device or Mortise (-M).
