What is the leading edge of a door with respect to door bottoms ?

Resolution:

With respect to mortised automatic door bottoms (ADB) , door will sometimes be specified with a clean leading edge.

This is specified for aesthetics.

For mortised automatic door bottoms, doors will be mortised on the bottom end-to-end for the channel for the ADB to be installed.

A clean leading edge means the door will not be routed fully through to the lock edge of the door. This makes the door more aesthetically pleasing visually. However, with the door bottom not fully installed to the end, there will be a slight gap in full coverage of the door bottom.
