Non fire rated doors can be furnished with a maximum 3" diameter hole for viewer preparations.

Fire rated doors have a 3/4" maximum holes size unless otherwise listed by UL or ITS/WHI. Viewers must also be fire rated.

A maximum of 2 viewer preps per door leaf are available on Fire rated doors.

  1. The viewers must be a minimum of 12" apart.
  2. Multiple viewer prep are mainly used to accommodate handicapped building code requirements.
