What is the High Security Stud (ST) option for Ives Butt Hinges?

Some Ives Architectural Butt Hinge templates reference a High Security Stud (ST) option which has separate templates.

The ST option has a pin and hole on each leaf that when the 2 leaves are closed, the pin on the door leaf goes through the hole in the frame leaf, while a second pin in the frame leaf goes through the hole in the door leaf to lock the leaves together.

This would make removing the door while shut extremely difficult even if the hinge pin was removed from the barrel of the hinge.

The SH version of this has one pin in one leaf of the hinge going into a hole in the other leaf of the hinge, but does not project through the hinge leaf and thus does not require a separate template like the ST option does.

The SH option replaced the ST option, if you are reusing an old ST hinge with 2 security studs, please contact Ives Technical Product Support for assistance finding the old template at 877-671-7011, select Option 2 in the first menu, then option 7 in the second menu.
