What is the function of an SE version of Glynn-Johnson overhead stop series 90, 100, 410, or 450?

The SE is a special Stop Only function available with certain overhead stops (90, 100, 410, 450 series).  The SE stop should only be used with single-point hold-open electronic closers such as the LCN SE models.  In SE overhead stops, the shock-absorbing spring that is usually in an overhead stop is replaced by an adjustable fixed stop block.  Since the single-point hold-open electronic closer stops at a certain point, it is undesirable to have an overhead stop that has any spring motion that might extend beyond the tolerance of the closer. Used as an auxiliary stop, these SE overhead stop models prolong the life of the closer.

The SE stop location is adjusted using an allen wrench on the stop block located in the channel.

Note: Caution should be taken when using this SE stop option in other applications, as the elimination of the shock-absorbing spring can put added stress on the door and frame.
