What is the F and Ff stamping on the latch face?

Latch products marked uppercase letter F comply with the positive-pressure requirements of ANSI/UL 10C.

UL had previously authorized the use of the lowercase letter fto denote products that comply with the positive-pressure-test requirements from those that complied only with the neutral-pressure test in ANSI/UL 10B.

The use of the lowercase letter “f” is no longer required for products in this category.

Note: Some manufacturers re-tooled their dies and may be marking their products with both an uppercase “F” and lowercase “f”.
