What is the difference between the Von Duprin standard baseplate return spring package 090039 and the LBR (less bottom rod) baseplate return spring package 090088?
Current baseplate spring 090039
Used with 2227/27-F, 33/3527A/27A-F, 98/9927/27-F (Standard and LBR)
May be used for all standard and LBR devices produced after 1995
Was redesigned in 1995 to be used with the new riveted baseplate design
Design allows the end of the spring to nest inside the action rod end
Is distinguished as silver, 1.75” free length, plus 3 smaller coils at each end
Old LBR baseplate spring 090088
Only for Von Duprin 2227/27-F, 33/3527/27-F, and 98/9927/27-F LBR (less bottom rod) devices shipped prior to 1995
Older devices (prior to 1995) work are to use that spring if converting to LBR.
NOT to be used with any devices (Standard or LBR ) shipped after 1995. It will not properly seat into the hole in the action rod. It can and will pop out eventually.
Is distinguished by red color and barrel shape, with about 2 3/8” free length
