What is the difference between the 23-013 and 23-118 cylinders for the AD series locks?

LOCKED DOWN TO TECHNICAL SUPPORT

There is no difference between the 23-013 and 23-118.  These cylinders have all the same components and dimensions.  Initially, the 23-013 and 23-118 cylinders had different tailpieces, but as of 2019, both cylinders have the C604-243 tailpiece.

The table for AD and CO cylinders in the Schlage Commercial PB States:

  • The 23-013 should be used for cylindrical chassis or exits with Athens levers.
  • The 23-118 should be used for mortise chassis or exits with any trim except Athens levers.

The above distinction no longer applies as the cylinders are now the same.  Due to the complexities involved in changing the cylinder part numbers in the engineering drawings, bills of material, and all the customer facing literature, the decision was made to leave the information in the Price Book as is.
