What is the deduct for ordering less keys on master keyed cylinders?

Schlage no longer furnishes “balance of keys as blanks.”  Instead, master keyed cylinders receive a price deduct if the total quantity of keys is less than the normal 2 keys per cylinder.  See the example below for a more detailed explanation.  

 
EXAMPLE: 
  • 50 cylinders on an order are keyed to AA1.  Since Schlage normally supplies 2 keys per cylinder, there would typically be 100 keys included with these cylinders.
  • Supposing the customer only wants 20 AA1 keys, then there is a discrepancy of 80 keys.
  • Under the old "balance as blanks" system, 80 key blanks would've been added to the order.
  • Under the current system, the cost of a 80 extra cut keys (see notes below for pricing) is deducted from the cylinder price.
