What is power boost on a Senior Swing IQ operator?
The Swing IQ units have Smart Power Boost technology.
Smart Power Boost
- A rare combination of brains and brawn, our Smart Power Boost can both add and control additional force on the closing cycle, only applying the force necessary to secure the door. It can both engage and disengage based on each individual closing cycle, minimizing the risk of slamming in low pressure scenarios, while still reliably latching in high pressure ones.
The Swing IQ with Power Boost set to max, the closing force, near the door-closed position, is about 18 lbs total (spring plus boost). Keep in mind that power boost force changes based on a lot of factors (arm type, door angle, door size, door weight, etc.). Also, on the Swing IQ, Power Boost force is adjustable from a 1 to 10 because of the wide range of applications, door weights, door widths, arm type, air pressures, other elements etc….
