Over Network Reprogramming is a feature introduced in the AD-Series in March 2014,with firmware package AD.A.60.
Over the Network Reprogramming (ONR) makes it possible to upgrade device firmware with the host Access Control Panel over the RS-485 network, without needing to manually visit each device.
The ONR must be supported both by the AD-Series device and by the host Access Control Panel.
ONR allows the HOST Access Control Panel to download and "Firmware Update" the AD-Series with the RS-485 network.
- The ONR capability was first included in AD-Series firmware package AD.A.60.
The AD-Series device must have firmware package AD.A.60 or newer installed before ONR can update over the RS-485 to newer firmware versions.
Firmware packages AD.A.60 or newer can be Over Network Reprogrammed, older firmware packages cannot be installed with ONR.
- ONR is possible with AD-Series devices communicating with the Host ACP on the RS-485 NETWORK. Other connections don't support ONR.
ONR is possible with;
The AD-300 when wired direct with RS-485 to the host Access Control Panel (ACP)
The PIM-400-485, which is wired to the host Access Control Panel (ACP) with RS-485
The AD-400 LINKED to a PIM-400-485 will get the upgrades from RS-485 relayed by the PIM-400=485 over the RF LINK
- ONR is only possible with Host Access Control Panel (ACP) providers that support Over Network Reprogramming.
Contact your host ACP software supplier for details and availability.
As of May 2014 only CBORD is developing the ONR capability.
- At this time ONR capability is not available in the WPR-400 and WRI-400.
- ONR is not possible on the PIM-400-TD2 and PIB-300 because they are not connected to the host Access Control Panel with RS-485
