What is GrainTech?

Resolution: GrainTech® is a Steelcraft door option which provides a wood grained pattern which is embossed into both face sheets of the door.

1. GrainTech doors are factory stained and top coated with a clear coat of UV protective sealant.
2. The term "Embossed" is the steel industry's terminology for the process which forms the wood graining into the steel. The wood grain pattern may also be referred to as “etched” or “engrained”.

GrainTech® is available in the following door constructions:

1. L-Series (18 and L16 gage)
2. CE-Series (18 and 16 gage)
3. H16 and HE16-Series
4. T-Series (18 and T16 gage)

NOTE - GrainTeck doors are NOT available with seamless (seam filled or seam welded) edges.

Fire Ratings - all ratings for the product noted above are also available with the GranTech option. GrainTech does not affect the fire rating of the door.

Hardware applications - all hardware options for the product noted above are available with the GranTech. GrainTech does not affect the hardware application of the door.

GrainTech® is not available in the following products:

1. B-Series steel stiffened door construction
2. Frames - Not available on any frame construction

GrainTech® is ideal to use in Schools, Hospitals, Offices, Nursing Homes, Apartment Buildings, Dormitories, etc.
