What is FIPS-201-2 compliant? How is it different than FIP-201-1?

The FIPS 201-1 standard has been replaced by FIPS 201-2. The new standard no longer defines specific credentials, readers or locks as compliant. Instead, only complete solutions developed through Physical Access Control Software (PACS) providers that are tested and approved by the Government can be compliant. These solutions require PIV and PIV-I credential capability and may utilize wall mounted readers and/or electronic locks as part of the solution. See the approved products list for information on which PACS provider solutions feature Schlage products.
