What is a Dutch Door?

A Dutch Door is a door having two separate leaves, hung one over the other:

 

  1. Usually equipped so that both leaves can be operated
  2. Usually in single doors applications but sometimes specified in pairs or as one of the leaves of a pair of doors
  3. May include a shelf attached to the top edge of the bottom leaf.

 Installation and Application – Dutch Doors are usually installed in storage or service location restricting entry to the storage/service area but allowing for items or services to be provided by an attendant.
