A "BLOCK" credential is very similar to a "DELETE WITH ALARM" credential.
A "BLOCK" credential denies access to the lock and records the access attempt as an audit, just like a "DELETE WITH ALARM" credential.
If a credential is given the credential function "BLOCK" or "DELETE WITH ALARM" when the credential is presented at an assigned lock, access is denied and the diagnostic audit will log the credential name and the denied access, Text may vary depending on lock types and access management systems.
If a BLOCK credential is not assigned to a lock, the lock will just deny access and not report an audit event.
In a NO-Tour site, when a credential is "Replaced" the old credential is set to "BLOCK" and not deleted. This is in case a lost credential is found or used again it will show in the audit report.
If you just DELETE a credential, all prior USER and DEVICE assignments will be lost, BLOCK and DELETE WITH ALARM keeps the history of past assignments.
